In 1843, RSA Fellow and British civil servant Henry Cole made history by sending the first commercially produced Christmas card. Cole worked with artist John Callcott Horsley to create a card that featured a festive family scene, with a central image of a family celebrating Christmas together. The design included a charitable message, urging people to support the less fortunate during the festive season.
